Christopher C Evans
I'm trying to add a new parameter to the my door vectorscript plug-in. I have created it as Name: DoorType, Alternate Name:__Door TYPE, Type: Text. It will not appear in the in door data area. Please help. Thanks Chris Quote Link to comment
doughd
Are you using VW 2009? If so, I can tell you that the Door Tool is not in the Plug-in Editor, because they (tech support) said that the door tool is using c++ in 2009, and cannot be edited. I think that is what you're asking, but I've been wrong once before. Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
In order to show up in the shape pane of the Object Info Palette, you have to modify the Plug-in Parameter Record. As Doug says, the VW2009 Door Object can not be accessed through the VectorScript Plug-In Editor. You can create your own Record and attach it to a Door and access that information from the Data pane of the OIP. Quote Link to comment
Christopher C Evans
Sorry, I'm using VW 2008. Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
I just added a field to the Door object in VW2008. Go to Tools:Scripts:Vectorscript Plug-In Editor Scroll down to find the Door object Click on Parameters Click on New and enter the information. Drag the filed from the bottom of the list up to where you want it to appear in the list. It then shows up in the OIP for easy access. But, knowing that you will not be able to continue using this method the next time you upgrade, do you want to look for an alternative that may not break when you upgrade? What exactly are you trying to do. Maybe we can make some suggestions. Quote Link to comment
Christopher C Evans
Thanks. I have done what you have written, but it is not showing up in my OIP. I want to have a field for Door Type, I'm not planning on upgrading right now. Quote Link to comment
doughd
I just tried it with VW 2008, and got it to work. Try restarting VW or creating a new blank document and insert a door. Edited December 22, 2008 by doughd Quote Link to comment
