JeffPPI
Hi all I've got a question about massively huge files in VW 2008. I've got a drawing that is ginormous, and only has a few (120) objects. The objects are extrudes that i've sliced to form the angle. I'd like to get the same type of thing in a 5mb or close to that file size, rather than a 22mb file. I tried to post it, but internet explorer said no. Any suggestions? Thanks! Ozzie
Have you tried Tools/Purge Unused Objects - depends on if you have any unused objects to purge - have a look in Help Back up first though Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee klinzey Posted November 24, 2008 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted November 24, 2008 If you do not need the object creation history, select the extrudes you have sliced and run convert to generic solids. Quote Link to comment
JeffPPI
doing both of those things only took it from a 26mb file to a 19 mb file. Granted, that's 7 mb, but still not in the sendable to AOL email range(which is my goal. i think it's 10 mb limit). any more hints? thanks!! Quote Link to comment
Ray Libby
Have you tried compressing (Zip) the file? Quote Link to comment
Ozzie
www.yousendit.com I use it regularly Quote Link to comment
Morgan Pileggi
if you are regularly sending large files (or exchanging many files) it would make sense to set up an ftp site. bandwidth and storage is very cheap these days. Quote Link to comment
Ray Libby
Great suggestion, I would have a hard time without mine. Quote Link to comment
