MaxStudio
is there a way i can copy something from one class and paste it to another class without changing the class in the object info palette? i just want to be able to copy something, change which class I'm on, and paste it in the new class. Jeffrey W Ouellette
Derek, Short answer: No. Classes aren't "containers" like layers are. Classes are attributes that help define the object. Changing a class requires "redefining" the object via the OI palette or the Eyedropper tool. Quote Link to comment

IanH
I have a script that I posted in the vectorscripts section that copied an object to the current class and layer - it may do what you want. I need to check what state it is in as there was a problem that I found after using it for a few days but I 99% sure it was not the fault of the script as it was so basic but may be an issue with one of the functions it calls.
