Scaling symbols- can anybody help?

Is there a way to scale a symbol? I have a not-to-scale drawing and I want all of my lights to appear bigger than they are. Is there a way to do this once they are placed in the drawing?

If you want all instances of the symbol to change you can edit the symbol and scale it there. If you only want some instances of the symbol to change, duplicate the symbol, edit it, then select all the symbols you want to change and click the Replace... button in the OIP and replace it with the new symbol.

Thanks Ray. I tried scaling it by editing the symbol itself, and it worked for one symbol, but I can't get it to work for any others, which I find odd. I am going to EDIT SYMBOL, then MODIFY, then SCALE OBJECTS. Any thoughts on what I may be doing wrong? Or why it only worked once? Also, what does OIP stand for?

If you don't care about them still being "Symbols,"

then I recommend selecting the symbols you already placed on your Design Layer,

then go to Modify>Convert>Convert to Group.

Now they are no-longer symbols, but objects on the drawing.

You can now group each light and scale it by grabbing a corner and stretching.

Symbols cannot be scaled.

Some Vectorworks users consider this a feature.

When you are in edit mode of the symbol, first select all objects and group (key short-cut: Command-G)

Then use the Scale Objects command.

The objects with a symbol can be scaled.

This will change every instance of the symbol.
