rcandeias
hello there! i'm using a new VW 12.5.1 Architecture user, and i have a simple question: i'm searching for a way to do a revolved surface, since in other 3d programs i use them quite oftenly. what sort of procedure should i make? i already created a line and i tried with "revolving wiith trail" tool (it didn't work out, the program says that i need a linear nurb, but i don't now were to get that) and i tried sweep but nothing works... I think its a simple question, can you help? thank you Quote Link to comment
michaelk
Are you hoping to end up with a 3d disc, a 3d "washer" or a 3d profile? Michael Quote Link to comment
rcandeias
hello my idea is to make a similar model to this one model and i need to make a surface revolve so i can cut the inside in a soft way. normally in other 3d programs such as solidworks or pro-e, i use this kind of surface cut techniques. Pat Stanford
You can draw your profile and convert it to NURBs and do a revolve with rail, or you can just draw it as a polyline, put a locus point where you want the center to be select both and do a sweep. Without a locus, the object will be swept around its left edge. Either method will produce an object that can be added or subtracted from. Pat Quote Link to comment
