Skia_D
Trying to figure out why I can't get door wrapping (splay) to work correctly. I need it to look almost exactly like the example in the Help guide under "Inserting Doors" which shows a door in brick veneer-on-cmu wall. Brick shows a perpendicular wrap to the door, with masonry opening at exterior of exterior brick mould trim. I can get it perpendicular, but I can't get it to set outside the brickmould. The M.O. is flush with the door jamb. What am I missing? Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
I don't think it is the Splay that you want, but rather the Component Returns. Select the door. In the OIP, scroll down to the entries (just under Exterior Trim) to the lines that say Interior Comps and Exterior Comps. These are the number of components that "wrap" back to the other components. Set the Exterior Comps to 1. You should get a selection handle showing on the door. Drag this handle to control how far back the component wrap. Pat Quote Link to comment
Skia_D
Aha! I had the components aspect understood. It was the selection handle that was new to me. Thanks, Pat. Quote Link to comment
Karl Harvey
Pat, you helped out Skia D and I thought me too except I don't see the Selection Handle. I set the exterior comp to 1 on the OIP but cannot figure out where the handle is, can you help? Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
Maybe, In the 2D Selection Tool make sure that you have the second mode (Single Object Interactive Scaling) selected. If you have the first mode (Disable Interactive Scaling) you won't see the selection handle. Pat Quote Link to comment
