digitalcarbon
i have a story pole that is a symbol and use it to check all my heights in the viewports of my model. also if any one else is working on a ref file, they ref my story pole and use it as a guide. Quote Link to comment
Bob Holtzmann
I have used a similar idea, using a vertical foot scale with dimensions and elevation markers, all grouped into a symbol. The window and door sections are an interesting addition. Are they 2D drawings? If so, I would think they would be used in annotated detailing, instead of 3D modeling. Quote Link to comment
digitalcarbon
the door & window sections in the story pole are 2d drawings. they are symbols and they do end up in the details part of the drawing set. but i have them in my story pole to make sure that all my modeled windows and doors are at the right height. i also have a 2d out line of a kitchen counter. all of this just helps to confirm my heights in the model which it is easy to get lost in.
