VW 12.5.2 and Parallels 3 on MacBook Pro

ICampbell

Question

I'm having the most frustrating problem and I'm wondering if anyone else is having the same issue.

I'm running a macbook pro intel 2.4G w/ 4G ram and running my copy of VW Spotlight in windows under parallels 3.0, since the copy from work is in windows. I'm working in one file that keeps going to black everytime I zoom in or out, making me rezoom to be able to see the drawing. It makes it very hard to keep working like this when makes objects, moving objects, or even just placing units makes the screen stop refreshing in black. Actually, I do think it's this one file, but it's only 5.1megs large. anyone know why this is happening?

I've been real close to just buying myself a copy of 2008, but now I'm worried about backwards compatibility with VW12 and VW11, which is what everyone else in my office uses.

I've had all kinds of graphic and slowness problems running VW under parallels. As far as I can tell parallels still adds a lot of overhead and doesn't really have direct access to the video card. Bootcamp on the other hand is fantastic. There are several applications that will not run under parallels that work just great under bootcamp. After a few similar experiences I won't run VW under parallels, but have no problem with it running natively on Mac, Windows, or under bootcamp on the Mac.

This has all been with 2008, but my guess is that 12 would be the same.
