J. Miller
Is VW2008 SP(83388) suppose to work with Adobe 5? The export PDF opens fine with Adobe 8 but multiple errors crop up when attempting to open the same file in Adobe 5. Fonts, loss of image, etc. I know there are some current issues with the export to pdf. Thanks in Advance Jeff Miller Off topic - Is a VW2008 viewer due out soon? Quote Link to comment
brudgers
Acrobat 5 has trouble handling layers. If you don't generate layers when you export PDF you'll be able to handle the file in version 5. Or at least that's what's worked for me. Quote Link to comment
islandmon
Acrobat5 > 6 was a major transition with numerous changes & options added to the way PDFs are Distilled and optimized. Acrobat 1-5 are compatible , but v6 is a different animal all together. Check out http://www.adobe.com/support/documentation/en/reader/ for a complete listing of the enhancements. J. Miller
In VW12 the PDF export file would open in Adobe 5, BUT in VW2008 it won't. What Changed? Thanks Jeff Quote Link to comment
billtheia
I've also been having trouble with PDF export. I routinely do batch export to PDF to send to consultants. But recently, they have not been able to open the files. They get some sort of missing font error. I am exporting from a mac and they are trying to open the files on PCs. I am able to open them just fine on my mac. I have found that opening my PDF in Preview, then Saving As... fixes the problem. This is a pain. I'd love it if VW fixed this problem soon. dspearman
There are versions of PDF. VW 2008 uses the latest and greatest. (1.5?) Mac os pdf uses the oldest and most compatible. (1.3?) Adobe reader 8 is a free download... Quote Link to comment
brudgers
Latest version is 1.7 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pdf Quote Link to comment
