COPYING WITH BASEPOINT

Does anyone know how to copy (duplicate in VW) with a basepoint like you can in AutoCad??

in VW 2008 you can use the move point to point tool.

VW has a "paste in place" function that works well when one wants to place the copied object(s) in the same location but on a different layer. Now here's how I mimic Acad's basepoint function.

Select and Duplicate the targeted geometry.

Convert the duplication into a Group

Move Group to desired location/Layer

Use one of Group Handle to position it where I need it.

Ungrouping the object will convert back into singular obejects.

This is way faster then it reads
