carpalmer
working on a line drawing perspective (hidden line) and want to show the lines of a wooden floor, what's the best way to get them in the perspective without actually drawing each one as a 3d poly? Is there a way to have a hatch work in 3d? thx carpalmer Quote Link to comment
Ray Libby
Use the hatch command in the Modify menu, which basically creates a group of lines, then extrude them a small amount. Quote Link to comment
Petri
One can also use a Floor for this: create a thin Floor with no fill, enter it, and then use the Hatch command. Quote Link to comment
gScott
to clarify/confirm petri's solution, use the HATCH command, normally in MODIFY menu, not the fill attribute hatch. you can also use this method on roof faces. you have to ungroup roof objects to be able to do this. Quote Link to comment
Petri
Indeed. Of course the lines don't have to be a hatch. Any lines will do - like a column grid or roof rafter centrelines. Quote Link to comment
gmm18
Is this possible with walls? I want to show simple horizontal siding lines on my "hidden line" elevations for construction documents without having to add lines as annotations. There must be a way... Quote Link to comment
