Christiaan
I'm getting a message that says "a parametric constraint cannot be placed on a locked object," when I try to associate dimensions to a locked object. This is not the behaviour I would expect. Is there any good logic behind this behaviour? I'd like to be able to lock all the structural columns in a building I'm drawing while also dimensioning off the columns with associative dims. Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
Christiaan, Your desire is very reasonable. It should be wish listed. I think the problem is that locked objects are locked, they can not be changed. I think that the parametric constraints (which are used by the associative dimensions) need to attach a "record" to each of the associative objects. I don't know any work around. I get the same behavior in VW2008. Pat Quote Link to comment
G_Hannigan
Christian, They can be unlocked, dimensioned & relocked. In 12.5 the dimensions remain associated through the process. Tedious, but it seems to work. George Quote Link to comment
