Can't start at measured point from current cursor location.

Seem to be having a brain freeze with 2008. I am attempting to set a datum point on the corner of a rectangle and then enter the distance from that point to start the first point of a new rectangle. In 12.5 all you had to do was set the datum point to be 0,0...tab into the proper x or y data field and enter your distance.

Is there a new way to accomplish this simple task with 2008?

you might need to check the options that are set for the floating display bar. There are options on the right hand side of the mode bar.

Choose the option for use Floating Display bar.

Or try the tab key after the G key

Found out that you must tab through the floating display past the x or y to set a datum point to start.
