billtheia
I just crated a stair with railing on one side but the railing isn't showing up when I look at the model in 3d. Balusters are there but no railing - just a line (see attached pic.) Has anyone else experienced this problem? This is the first stair that I've created - I just started using VW 12.5.2. Did I miss something when I made the stair? Quote Link to comment
jfmarch
looks like you need to specify the width/thickness of the handrail... Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Robert Anderson Posted September 18, 2007 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted September 18, 2007 You need to check the "Detail 3D Handrails" checkbox on the OI palette. This defaults to unchecked because (especially on complex stairs) creation of the full handrail can be somewhat time consuming. Quote Link to comment
billtheia
I did specify the railing width. I just discovered the "Detail 3D handrails" check-box on the Object Info Palette - checking this fixed my problem. I had been trying to fix my problem in the Stair Settings dialog (pops up when you double click on the stair) but there is no Detail 3D handrails check-box to be found there. Seems kind of odd to me that this option wouldn't be available in the settings dialog that I use to create the stair. Edited September 18, 2007 by billtheia Quote Link to comment
