Joz
If I've set up a drawing with File>Drawing Setup>Create standard viewports, I wind up with several sheet layers with pre-installed viewports and saved views. If I wish to add a sheet after beginning work on the file, the sheet layers and pre-installed viewports show up, but the saved views do not. So I create the views I want and save them. But... how do I place those saved views "into" the pre-installed viewports? Or otherwise show those saved views on a sheet layer? I'm just getting back into VW after several years (and versions) of ArchiCAD. I like this new method of sheet layers/viewports (the last version of VW I was proficient on was 7), but I can't figure out how to manipulate it. If I set it all up from the beginning it works great, but adding stuff in is proving difficult for me. Thanks... -J Quote Link to comment
jfmarch
you can not put a saved view onto a sheet layer. these are simply assemblies of layers/classes that are saved for your use. you would have to create the approprate sheet w/viewports and then save that view... Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
OR, with a Save View active, go to: VIEW>CREATE VIEWPORT then choose the destination Sheet Layer, and VOILA! Quote Link to comment
Joz
Excellent, Peter, thank you... this is exactly what I needed to know. But now, all those saved views are showing up in wireframe in their viewports, even tho I tell the VP to Render in Hidden Line (these are elevations). The vp boundary line changes when I change it from hidden line to wireframe, but the drawing inside stays wireframe. Why? Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
VP's need to be "updated". Select a VP and then click "Update" in the OIP (object info palette). Quote Link to comment
