jeffroyer
Ok, not necessarily a VW issue but... For those Mac users, is there any real difference between Apple's pricey memory vs the aftermarket stuff? Apple 2gigs = $350 aftermarket = $110 Any opinions would be appreciated Quote Link to comment
Gytis
Jeff- The only real difference I have experienced is that if you get a bad stick (which can happen with either), Apple is somewhat less helpful in dealing with the consequences. "Oh, you put in third-party RAM.." "Yeah, but....." Happened on my old PB. I've decided it's worth it to pay the peace-of-mind premium. Search Apple Discussions MBP for tons of opinions. islandmon
Apple's Firmware Upgrades are RAM specific. You will need to remove 3rd party RAM prior to any future Firmware upgrades. Quote Link to comment
