bonus
Is it possible to apply an image to an extruded object? In all ads for VW it is done but...how? As soon as I extrude an object the applied image dissapears and no render mode brings it back. Quote Link to comment
Petri
It is. As a texture. While the situation is somewhat confusing, it is also understandable. A 2D object is not "really" converted to 3D when extruding: instead, a new object is created using the 2D object as the profile ("bottom", if you like") and mapping of the (2D) image is pretty much impossible. Where & how would you map it (to start with)? Bottom, top or sides? If you go and further modify the resulting 3D object (eg. as a mesh or a part of a Solid), what then? Quote Link to comment
Guest
Bonus, Use the attribute mapping tool and/or the sliders in the OIP (render pane) to position it correctly. If you want to send the 3d Object and texture over to me, I can play w/ it and guide you on what to do. Quote Link to comment
