sfatelier
I have outlined an area using poly lines and straight lines. I would like to extrude this. I tried grouping and trying to convert to a polygon but no luck. Is there a way to combine these elements and group them to extrude? Thank you! Quote Link to comment

panthony
Use the paint bucket under the polyline tool and fill the area withing your lines. Once that is done you will have a complete closed poly with which to extruede into a 3D object. Pete A. Quote Link to comment
VASTU
When rendering a complex building in 3D, in some parts of the building many black artefacts appear. We changed to different angles and modes, but they are always there. Any idea..? Quote Link to comment

sfatelier
I tried that but the "add surface" option was not available. It was greyed out. Any other suggestions? Thanks! Quote Link to comment
panthony
sfatelier, You will not be able to create an add surface or combine surface with all of your objects grouped together. You must have each object seperate then you can select them all and use the add surface or use the combine into surface which will give you a paint bucket were you can fill the individual areas created from lines and arcs inta a solid surface which will then be able to extrude into a 3D solid. See below With this example I placed the angled rectangl, oval and circle over the large rectangle then used clip surface to create the seperate objects....selected them all and extruded. Pete A.
