Slab Drainage = Nightmare

I do apologize if the title of this post is too extreme but it is actually what I feel when I use slab drainage. 
Even to do a very simple slope in one way as the one posted below, 0 to 150mm, I spend a couple of hours trying to move the grips. 
I already have seen lots of tutorials about drainage, but since I use VW this is probably the only tool which gives me issue every single time. 
Do you have any tips that I can use to have more control on the slope ? I never understood the related settings to control the slope as they look really random.

But I agree, it's not the easiest of tools... The other thing you can do is use the 'Add 3D Object to Slab...' command to add a wedge-shaped 3D solid to the top of an existing Slab.

I only knew myself after seeing @Matt Panzer demonstrate it in a video a while back... Not the kind of thing anyone would easily find out for themself! I think we should lobby Matt to release a daily video 🙂
