Convert To Truss

Hello

I have been trying to converting DWG files of Truss into valid truss symbol, and i can't seem to get it to work properly.

i would love if someone can please help me with that issue.

I'm adding a file here with two different DWG symbols, a straight truss and a circle truss.

I want the truss symbol to have 2D and 3D components.

If someone could please make a video of the whole process, i would appreciate that greatly.

 

I'm on Vectorworks 2023 with Braceworks

Convert to Truss is designed to take an existing Vectorworks symbol and the necessary data and structural information so it can be used by the truss tool.
If you convert your geometry to a Vectorworks symbol and then you can use the Convert to Truss command to add the specialized truss data.

Thank you for your reply and sorry for not explaining more, i did make a Vectorworks symbol from the DWG, but after that it doesn't seem to work properly.

This is why i would like to get a video of the process, if that's possible.

Try this course from Vectorworks University. It shows how to take the DWG files from a manufacturer and make it into a truss symbol as well as setup the truss in the Truss Properties dialog to allow for proper auto connect.
