Vanished tool sets - 2024

Hi - I have seen this is an issue for VW's 2019 but I am using the 2024 version. I have tried going through finder and renaming settings with an x (worked once but not working now), have also tried with renaming the workspace - again not working. Any ideas of how I can get my basic tool palettes back please?

Are you using a custom workspace that has been upgraded from a previous version?  If so, what happens if you try one of the default shipping workspaces?

 

If the default workspace works then you probably will need to recreate your workspaces starting from one of the defaults.

This sounds like an issue that will be resolved more easily by a call to technical support.

 

The forum is basically for user to user help. If you ask the right question in a way that we have seen before we can often provide a rapid solution.

 

But your description is not something that I remember ever seeing or hearing about before.  If could be VW. It could be your OS. It could be some other application on your computer.

 

Technical Support will be better able to talk you through finding the correct solution more quickly than the users here guessing about what the problem could be.

 

If you to contact Tech Support and get a solution, please post it back here so we can all learn from your problem.

1) Are you using one of the standard Workspaces that was ‘shipped’ with Vectorworks?
2) Or are you using a Custom Workspace — as in when you upgraded to Vw2024, did you Migrate your own Custom Workspace?
 

Since you mention renaming workspaces, I would assume that you are using a custom Workspace. (Note: If you are going around and renaming Workspaces, you should be doing that only in your User folder, and not in the application folder [Vectorworks]\Workspaces ).
