Worksheets adding comments, and viewing cell links

Has anyone worked out a way to add comment text to a worksheet cell where there's already math going on in that cell> e.g.:

 

=($W$3*O16)*2         {W3 is type ModA, '2' is a kludge}

 

I have tried

[text]
{text}
"text"
!text
and it just disables the function. Not being able to document complex worksheets is a pain and very unprofessional of VW to build such a thing.

 

Also is there a way to view or export a worksheet to see which cells have links to other cells? Are either of these situations possible in newer versions of VW?

There is no way to have a formula with comments.

 

Your best option would probably be to add an extra column for your comments and then set that column width to Zero so it does not display.

 

As far as I know, there is no way to print/export the formulas from the worksheet.

 

No major changes to this functionality between 2018 and 2024.  But 2023 and 2024 have had a very large number of additional functions added to allow gather data from specialty objects like Spaces, Terrain Models and Walls.
