matteoluigi
Hi, I want to create a datastamp with a rectangle around the text. is it possible to couple/connect the rectangle to the text field in order that the text field grows (or shrinks) in x direction, when the text field grows? (As you can see in the attached sketch) Quote Link to comment
Tom W.
Do you mean a Data Tag? If so, yes, just make the Text object left aligned horizontally + constrain it left + right to the boundary (to the rectangle) 1 Quote Link to comment
matteoluigi
which constrain type did you choose? I still do not manage to connect the right border of the rectangle to the text 😕 Quote Link to comment

Tom W.
Make sure the text is aligned left Quote Link to comment
matteoluigi
it's aligned left 🙂 however, there are now constrain-settings in my OIP for example (using VW architect) Quote Link to comment
matteoluigi
... inside the data tag instead constrains are visible! (in the US Version at least) Quote Link to comment
Tom W.
Sorry I don't totally follow what you are saying... The Constraints can only be applied when you edit the Data Tag Layout. They will only be visible in the drawing window in the edit mode + if they are set to show in the View menu. Quote Link to comment
matteoluigi
well, I tried to use the constrain-tools in Vectorworks first... you can access them from anywhere, of course, also outside a data tag layout Quote Link to comment
matteoluigi
ah ok, now the constraints work fine but, everytime I change sth in the space or the data tag the data tag tool adds antoher two lines with height and area to the stamp 😄 I will send the file to our local helpdesk ASAP... 😕 Quote Link to comment
