Skylight Not Inserting

I have been unable to insert 3D skylight objects in the roofs of one of my projects this morning - they are just placed as 3D objects in space. I opened another file and had no trouble inserting skylights into the roof. Is there some setting that would prevent the skylight objects from being inserted in the roof object?

Here's the answer: The Symbol Options for the Velux skylights I wanted to use did not have the "insert in walls" box checked. Then "insert in nearest edge" seems to do the trick.

Bizarrely, what I have found is that if you insert a skylight by dragging the symbol onto the Roof from the Resource Manager, then it will do so regardless of whether 'Insert in Walls' is enabled in the Symbol Options. If you insert it using the Symbol Insertion Tool however then it will only work if 'Insert in Walls' is enabled.

 

Cue another discussion on how overdue a revamp of skylights is 🙂
