Missing Purge Plug-in

Hello,

 

I was trying to purge a file (using VW2023) and when I looked for the purge command I got a message saying "Purge not in Plug-ins folder".

 

I have used it before a few versions ago so I don't know why the migration system didn't bring the plug-in.

 

Does anybody have a similar issue?

Does anybody know how or where to get the plug-in file or could someone share it in here?

That seems very odd...   I think you'll need to do a re-installed...

I installed the new VW2024 and still have the same problem.

Do you use a Custom workspace?  If so, try with one of the default workspaces. If that works, then edit your custom workspace and remove the Purge menu command and add it back in.

 

But if you need to do that you should also budget time to recreate your entire workspace based on one of the current VW2024 standards as it sounds like your workspace has old commands in it.

 

Best practice is to recreate your workspace with each version of VW.  Second best is to recreate it every 2 or 3 versions. Very old workspaces often don't have the newer tools and menu commands so you are working at less than the full capabilities of VW.  And they may also contain tools/menu commands that have been upgraded but need a slightly different code in the workspace even though they still have the same name. That is what I am guessing is happening with your Purge.

Just a hunch...  but are you using an older workspace from a previous version?     That could be the problem possibly..

I migrated my custom Workspace to VW 2024 again and I can Purge .... on my Mac.

(Haven't installed it on Windows so far ....)

 

I just noticed missing plugin for Windoor,

which you can meanwhile install again.

But have not seen any such Plugin not in Folder warning.

That was it. The purge plug-in woks again.

I would've never though of that. I customized my workspace a long time ago (2015 I think) and I haven't been paying attention to the new tools. I should definitely upgrade my workspace every once in a while.
