Frontal and Right components in Symbols

Is there any way to access the front or right component of a hybrid symbol ?

More specifically i need to create a 2D circle inside the Front component of a hybrid symmbol/...

Yes,  Symbols can contain separate 2D versions for all of the primary (Top, Front, Back, Right, Left, Bottom).

 

Once you draw a 2D object inside the symbol definition, you can specify in the OIP which views that object will display in.

I think you can do this using Set2DComponentGroup, but haven't done it personally.  I imagine that you would draw your circle inside a group using BeginGroupN, then using the generated handle with Set2DComponentGroup(<symbol handle>, <group handle>, 4);

I also don't know about the script, but are you sure "components" will work for you?  You can't just add one object into the front component, you have to draw everything you want to be in the "orthogonal componts" as those are the only thing that will show in the component. The model does not show in the orthogonal views if there is a corresponding component.

 

Also, the components will only display in Viewports set the the orthogonal view and rendered in Hidden Line.

 

You can certainly add a planar circle to the 3D model, but it will show in all views. Your best bet may be to do that and use a Class to control the visibility.
