Kim101
I make granite cemetery stones. I have no problem making the shapes. I have scanned stone samples in Photshop and adjusted transparencies for "polished" and "unpolished" textures and imported them into VW. (i'm still on VW10) What I want to do is make a rough, random split face texture or shader to apply to the sides. I have tried editing a bump shader. It kind of works, but looks more lumpy than jagged. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks Quote Link to comment
propstuff
You've tried with the "leather" Bump shader? It's got a lot of controls that can be tweaked to make a lot of different textures (with a "lot" of experimenting) N. Quote Link to comment
Kim101
Thanks, I don't have the leather shader. I used coarse bump with all kinds of adjustments. It's stil not what I'm looking for, but I'll keep trying. Thanks again, Kim Quote Link to comment
propstuff
OK, The "leather" bump must have been introduced later. My next try would be to use an "Image Bump". Take a photo of a largish area of the sort of rough surace you want. I would suggest on a type of stone that has a fairly uniform colour, and under strong contrasting lighting to show the texture strongly. HTH Quote Link to comment
