Ian A
Hi All, I have never encountered this before. Could be a very simple answer! Imported from a dwg into 2023. I have visible three circles around an object in Top/Plan view. In this case a theatre seat. What are they and how do I get rid of them? Not visible in any other view. Thanks in advance. 0 Jeff Prince
Looks like arcs that depict the edge of the seat which have had their direction or center flipped. Hard to tell from a screen shot. Edited October 11, 2022 by jeff prince 3 Quote Link to comment
0 Ian A
Thanks Jeff. Is there anyway to fix this efficiently with out getting rid of all the flipped instances? File attached if anyone wants to have a go. Auditorium Ground Floor Plan - 1-250 @ A3 IA VER.vwx Quote Link to comment
0 Jeff Prince
The symbols with the problem are defined as 3D symbols and are flipped. As this is a 2D drawing you are working with, I would import the dwg into a fresh file with everything set to 2D in the import dwg settings and see if does the trick. Alternatively, you could select the symbol instances that have been flipped, mirror them, and move them back into the correct position. This will effectively 'unflip' the symbol and restore the desired graphic behavior. You might even find a script here on the forum that will do it for you or at least make a selection set of the flipped instances. The nuclear option is to select the flipped symbol instances and ungroup them. This will convert them from symbols into simple linework. Personally, I don't like that option due to file bloat and losing the advantages a symbol offers. Try reimporting as 2D and I suspect your problems will go away. 0 Jeff Prince
Definitely reimport the DWG as 2D only and the problem goes away. Just hit the advanced button during DWG import, hit Conversion ->Convert Objects to: All 2D I just tried this by exporting your file to dwg and importing it... painless 🙂 3 Quote Link to comment
