'Proposed Contours' not working as expected in Site Model
nicovlogg posted a question in Troubleshooting
Hi all, I'm working with the 3D site model tools for the first time. I've gone through tutorials pretty extensively but haven't been able to find a solution to this issue. I have an existing site model, provided by the client. I'm attempting to model some new berms and swales on this model. When I add these in 'Proposed Contours', the model does not change. My view is set to show 'proposed' so it's not a phasing issue. Would appreciate any help. I can use the 'validate 3D data' tool and get an error, but there is nothing useful about a message that says 'something is wrong' - I need to know what it is. There are no overlapping lines that I can find. Existing contours Proposed contours - new in pink- 12 replies

Saved View, Site Model status
Benson Shaw posted a question in Wishlist - Feature and Content Requests
I tried to make 2 saved views, one showing DTM exist, another showing DTM as proposed. I don't think this is possible, because update needed. But would be nice time saver, for instance comparing effects of site modifiers to existing. -B- 1 reply

Hi, I am using c ontours to make changes in my site. When I draw them as proposed and update the model (which is also showing proposed), the 3D-locust that the site model is built up (source data) of is still affecting the terrain. Why is it like this? I don't really want to delete the imported info cause I still want the original (existing) terrain to be correct ... Ill post some pictures below .. Thanks for help 🙂

I have a series of stake points generated from existing levels to create an existing site model. I have now calculated the proposed levels, and generated another series of stake points, which I thought I could apply to existing to generate my proposed model. However, when I apply these new stake points as modifiers, they tie to the existing site model points and become 'spikes' in the existing model, rather than tying to each other. What am I missing with this? Can I set the proposed model data to ignore existing? Do I need to create a separate model for proposed? I want to be able to do cut and fill calculations, which is why I want to modify the existing site, but I don't know how to stop my modify points tying to existing data rather than just the proposed points?
