I've noticed that Vw2020 Resource Library Objects (installed with the software, not VSS libraries) seem to no longer come provided with Attached Records as they have in previous Vw versions. All they have now are a few Tags, but no Records. I'm not sure when or why this change happened, but I have a few favorite Libraries that I migrated into 2020 which have much more specification records already attached, which is it much more useful for pulling info for Data Tags. Was this an intentional change? If so — why? Thanks. For an example of what I am asking about, see the attached screen caps below of a Wolf DF48 symbol / plug-in object. Screen cap of Wolf DF48 found in /Applications/Vectorworks 2020/Libraries/Objects - Building Equip_Appliances/Wolf USA Appliances.vwx And a screen cap of Wolf DF48 from my migrated Favorite file (probably Vw2016 era):
"Place between" or "Measure from" like in AutoCAD
MartinBlomberg posted a topic in WorkflowsI'm coming from AutoCAD and can barely survice without the "Measure from" or "Place between two points". How do I do that in VW? Say I want to place a window exactly between two points, or if I'm putting an object at a specific distance from another object? Probably a super simple solution, but I can't get how to do it. Thanks!

Locking Python Scripted Plugin-Objects?
MaxStudio posted a topic in Python ScriptingI created a plugin object using python. The main code was pasted into the script editor via the plugin manager. I compiled the script and the plugin item works as it should. Now I would like to lock the script. I'm on a mac and recently made the jump from Vectorworks 2008 to 2016. In the past when creating a vector script I could lock it by holding down 'command' + 'option' + 'shift' + 'caps lock' (it was important that all external files had the extension .px) Now i'm in 2016 and scripting with Python. I only have 1 other file in addition to "import vs", which is, "import shapes" when i compile my script (shapes.py). It finds this file via the scripts options/environment paths. How do I go about locking or encrypting this plugin object? also, I do have a __init__.py file included in the folder that contains shapes.py
Objects order automatically change
Kia posted a question in TroubleshootingHello guys, I work in a landscape architecture office and recently we moved from VW2016 to VW2017. So we have this shared Project File that 4-5 people work on at the same time. The problem is when someone sets the order of the overlaying objects in the same layer he's working on and sends the changes to project file, the others get another whole different order of the objects. And this happens also everytime anyone closes the file and opens it again. The Objects remain in their right positions as long as the file is open, but only on your own computer. It seems that VW2017 totally igonres the order of objects or doesn't send it at all to the project file. We worked so far with VW 2014 - 2015 and 2016 and this is the first time this is happening and it's really annoying, since everytime we want to export a sheet layer, we shoud first get inside the respective design layers and redo the objects orders. Also clipping or trimming the overlaying objects is not an option, since we use many symbols, transparent objects, and also it makes the further edits harder. So does anybody know what is the problem? maybe we miss something here? Thank you
