How do you apply/draw a cabinet end panel. In other words, there is no option to apply raised or otherwise panels to cabinets. How do you show crown mouldings at wall cabinets? taoist

So when I draw an elevation in 2D (I have not figured out how to use hatches in 3D siding, roofing, etc.), I can't use the Hybrid window symbol for 2D elevations? What if I don't use 3D elevations? Are there equivalent 2D symbols for all Hybrid Objects? The only work around I have found is to use the Hybrid symbol, make the changes I want, save as polygon copy and insert into 2D elevations. taoist

How do you use hybrid symbols say of windows and doors that are normally in plan view for 2D elevation drawings. Would be of great help so I do not have to create the windows from scratch every time. taoist

How do you import "put" Andersen Window Object Library into VectorWorks 2008? Can't seem to get it to work, even if I try going through Resource Browser. Taoist

Chief Architect is not the only CAD package that has the ability to produce working drawings (read hatches or paint) in 2d from 3D drawings. If you make your living doing drawings, speed (less work) is of the essence. Don't get me wrong, I love VectorWorks, but I wish it had this ability. I have been using since MiniCad version 7. Maybe all those VectorScript gurus can/will do something about this as a plug in. Taoist

Are you using a Microsoft mouse? IF so,click on start button at far left of task bar. Click on Run, then when window pops up type msconfig. When system configuration utility pops up, select startup tab (far right). Scroll down till you see ipoint (if using microsoft mouse). Uncheck box. This solution came from Vectorworks tech support when I submitted a bug. Taoist

Most of the "work" if you will is still done by the CPU. Unfortunately, it will still be awhile before all of this Graphics GPU's and ram will be put to good use. A video card designed specifically for CAD (Nvidia Quadro) would probably help. For now get the most powerfull CPU your motherboard will handle or upgrade. Taoist

I have viewed your podcasts. The one for lines on polygons if you will was great. Do you have more info other than the podcast as how to do this? Taoist

I have an Nvidia 8800 gts video card and had screen flicker. Latest drivers made no difference. Problem was Microsoft Ipoint drivers for my mouse. Version 6xx is the culprit. Use version 5.5 or earlier and no problem or remove ioint fro version 6 and higher from windows startup using msconfig. Shut off ipoint and problem went away. taoist

How do you put these type of files into an existing library? We have downloaded Andersen's CAD file for their windows (2d only). Andersen is not up to speed on 3D yet. How do we load their DWG. & DXF. files into one of the libraries to use from the resource browser? Hope this makes sense. taoist

I guess I am a little confused here. A ballon framed wall (2) story would be (2) stories tall. Your 2nd floor joists would be at 2nd floor level or 1st floor ceiling. When you say 1st floor walls full height, what do you mean? Full height at 1st floor elevation or full height for 2 stories? You can draw (show) your 2nd floor level to the inside if you will of the exterior walls by drawing your floor to the inside of the exterior walls as VectorWorks shows the "floor" lines if drawn to the exterior wall perimeter. What do you mean by reference? taoist

Whenever I try that (copy to polygons)with windows or doors, the hatches run through the openings. I have not tried hatches using viewports yet. taoist

How do you edit the field locations that you create for linking text to records? I have created a Title block and have realized that the field position needs to move becasue it is outside the field lines. How do you do this without recreating the Title Block? Also, how do you change the font for these fields. Thanks, taoist
