  1. Hi all, Vectorworks Design Suite 2022 - [B-hall.vwx] 2021-11-12 09-31-30.mp4 Can anyone teach me how to create a ground stacked trussbox without this hassle? The truss auto-rolls on me and I have no idea how to fix this. Bug, or is it just me? Thanks all!
  2. Hi all! I'm really looking into buying one of the 14" myself but honestly I have no idea what all these specs are saying. Can anyone translate to ordinary English? 😃 Jokes aside, the most complex drawing I've ever done so far is this one for the venue I work at (link below). Do you think that the cheapest of the M1 MBP's would be sufficient, or do I need more juice? I don't know computers a lot I just want them to help me do my stuff, haha. Thanks everyone!
  3. Hi all, I just updated to VW2022 and all my shortcuts are going crazy. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. Now the Activate Class and Activate Layer just doesn't work. It doesn't even work when I right click and manually click the option. Any clue why this is? Thanks!
  4. Thanks line-weight! This is the look I'm after! So far the white model is quite slow but maybe there's a way around it. I'll dig through this post! Cheers! 😃
  5. Hi all, I guess this is something people already know, but how do I make an easy and quite quick white clay rendering? Is there a setting in the rendering tab that doesn't take forever? Thanks all!
  6. EDIT: WRONG FORUM - MOVED TO "TROUBLESHOOTING". Sorry!
  7. Hi, 1. Why is it that 2D dwgs are super slow in VW when they are quite easy to handle in any other CAD software? How can I make them work better in VW? When I try to move around an imported (or referenced, tried both) dwg it takes seconds before it moves or anything happens. And it's a blank VW-document which has no other files in it. The dwg isn't too complicated and works super smooth in softwares like AutoCAD. 2. When I have made a crop of parts of the original dwg I want to use to make my 3D drawing, the crop doesn't "stick" to the dwg. I've changed the actual crop from Screen to Layer but problem stays. Hope this make sense. I have a drawing which have both section and plan view in the same dwg, and just want to split them apart so I can "stand" the section view next to the plan view. Just like Make Doubleday does in this video. Please let me know your thoughts on this 😃 Thanks! // martin

  9. That sounds nice! So, what windows do you have open? Would you mind share a screenshot? Just for inspiration 😃
  10. Hah, yeah, I kinda' agree. I have a history in AutoCAD and the difference is huge. Whenever I open up VW I somewhat feel a bit ashamed of the UI.
  11. Hi, Just a 2021 update: how is this topic moving along? I'm looking forward to the day when VW looks, and feels, like a "real" professional software. Even though it's been 4 years since original post, and I've only used VW for about a year, I feel like the UI needs a serious update. What are your thoughts today? 😃 Take care all!
  12. By the way, do you understand why... 1. There are so many classes and layers still left in the "Lights only" file? They remain even though I've purged several times. 2. Why the single trusses act different then the box trusses in terms of looks? Thanks!
  13. That's good news, great! So, the current version isn't SP3? Looking forward! Thank you!
  14. Here's a link to a Google Drive folder where both my VW files are. What I can't understand, as well, is why the lighting, LED and all rigging is larger then the actual venue. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1jHk6cjCGY-g7SoKmjWKwS0VO9NVcHviE?usp=sharing Thanks friend! 😃
  15. Hm, I've tried to update the Geoimage several times but no luck. This whole feature seems quite buggy to me. Thanks for checking! 😃
  16. Here are the two files. One with the venue and one with only the lighting devices and a LED screen. This is super weird. LIGHTS V1.mvr Partille arena Vision 2.mvr
  17. @bbudzon Thank you so much for your reply! I'm trying to export the venue as an MVR file, but it just takes more then forever. 20min in and I'm at 5%. The file is quite large and complex, still want it? 😃 Thanks for everything! // martin
  18. Hi all! In VW2021 I've made a model of a venue and a light plot containing trusses, hoists, lighting devices and so on. I then exported the venue (no trusses, lights, hoists) as a ESC file and imported it to Vision. So far so good (I think). Next, I exported the trusses, hoists, lighting devices and everything else used in the set design as a MVR file. Most of the things look ok, but why, oh why, does Vision import (or Vectorwork export) it like this? File with white background is from VW2021, before exporting. As you see, hoists are up side down and no truss is visible. But still the chains are at the correct position. And yes, all classes are visible during export 😃 I asked this question on FB as well but no answer so far. Thanks all! Looking forward! Martin
  19. Thank you Dave for getting back! I've attached the file here. Even though there's a lot of chairs I really thought this wouldn't be a problem these days. I've used the lowest export quality available and used only VW standard models, a simpler chair. Thanks!
  20. @inikolova Thanks for the help! I've removed everything but the chairs from the drawing, so nothing from the actual stage yet. Thought this wouldn't be a problem considering the tech level today. Looking forward to the new version! Thanks!
  21. Hi, I'm trying to view a seating plan on a venue. It's around 1600 chairs placed on a plain surface. File size is around 1MB in total and Nomad just can't handle the AR. Just freezes and crashes. I'm using an iPad Gen 7 2020, so it shouldn't be a problem, right? Please let me know how I can view my different seating plans in AG using Nomad (or any other software). Thanks all! 😃
  22. Hi all, Any clue why this paperwork show this kind of X and Y coordinates when... - I've set the 0,0 on down stage center - All my lighting devices have a label legend that shows their X and Y coordinate which seem correct (see image, legend X and Y location is placed under the device) - I've set the report to show X and Y Location which shows a million decimals - I've set the document settings to 1mm in precision, no commas - The user origin is set to down stage edge - I've changed the cell to no decimals - I've tried different version of cell formatting, but the result is the same Thanks all!
  23. Sorry for such late reply! Thank you so much for clearing this out for me! Ok, so I can't get the shape I need and still keep the rotation? I edited the 2D symbol to match up with the colors I wanted but still no success.
  24. Hey! I'm really fighting with the truss tool in VW2021. Don't know if I'm really stupid or if there's something wrong. Anyway, please have a look at this. I can't get the trusses to have the same 2D color, no matter what I do. It's a cut out from a bigger drawing I'm making. Please see attached file and image for reference. I want everything to correspond with the class, both 2D and 3D, disregarding what kind of truss it is. Also, in the drawing there's some LED's I can't select as well. Why is this? Many thanks! // martin Arena_OnlyBoxTruss.vwx
  25. Thank you so much!!! I just love the feedback you get from people like you guys. Wonderful! I'll try this seating tool out straight away. Again, thank you!
