Jim, Well i will take the 'none for line' & 'group' as a solution for now. Thanks. As for selecting all or some of the focus points, i agree that a separate layer is ideal, but the problem i am now finding is You cannot create focus points on another layer or the lights actually do not attach themselves to the focus point. You have to go thru the OIP and Type the name in for it to work when on different layers. Any Ideas??

Jim, Some of what i am asking about is for other people. One person just doesn't want to see the whole beam, just a Line. When a drawing revision comes in, sometimes the focus point changes. In 12 you can move the focus point and any lights associated with it would follow. That is what was meant by that. Editing. Just want to be able to change the Hexagon, Size, or remove it completely. Selecting. Again, different people, different drawing styles and habits. Just looking to be able to select all of or some of the Focus Points, which of course are not always on a separate or even on the same layer. I need to select them using Find & Modify or Custom Selection that way I can make the layer and/or class changes. So I also hope an engineer or two are reading this. Kevin are you around and any thoughts?? And lastly, is there any way to change "how" VW creates the focus points. i would like to change the default class. I hope that helps in understanding what it is 'we' are looking for. Let me know if I can give more info

VW SptLt 12 . Mac In a lot of my drawings, designers and/or myself draw out Focus Lines. Typically they have been drawn using the Line Tool with an arrowhead at the end. This can be very time consuming. It seems that 12 has introduced "Draw Beam." My problem is that I would need to make the "beam" an actual line, and would need to color it, for designating the Purpose. Now the second problem I am having is, There seems to be no way to edit the Focus Point after it is created. That is the Hexagon symbol that is attached to the Focus Point. Third on my list is Is there any way to select all the Focus Point Objects? I can not seem to do it with the Find & Modify tool. Lastly, is there any way to have the Focus Point be assigned a class? I know this automatically happens while using the Label Legend Manager. Thanks in advance, Drew

It will only work if your connection type is "none". any other choice will make the connection length 2' 10" Drew

I will second that comment from Shelley. You could create an Editable Worksheet OR, you can also select the instruments and use the "Find & Modify" command. BUT you might have to get creative to be able to select the fixtures you want. Drew

One solution i have done in the past is create a new set of symbols that contain a color scheme. while you create the instruments, create new classes. set the class for whatever color you want. then using viewports bring up whatever 'color set' you want to show. Drew

So i am probably using both tools wrong, but for the moment it does what i need, Sorta. My question is this, Is there a tool or a way to combine both tools?? I need an outline style as in General Note, but want to automatically 'Box' the text and have a leader line with arrowhead as with the Callout tool. Thanks, Drew

VW SptLt 12.0.1 I have opened a 11 file, after updating my truss layers without a problem, i began on my Lights. Upon Nudging my first light, the following error comes up in the 'VectorScript Message' Window "The IP Resources File was not found". Then the light does not display it's Label Legend Info. I have updated, refreshed, and reassigned the Legend to the fixture. No Luck. HELP. Guess i will have to go to Ver 11 again.

Is there any way to edit (spreadsheet style) a bunch of symbols with Record Info? What I am trying to do is the following, I have a plot with about 45 Motor Symbols. The symbol has a Record attached to it and within the symbol there is text links to certain fields. I would like to drop in the motors where the need to go, number them as you would a lighting inst. then go to some sort of an editable worksheet that has my motor record info and edit all the info. Then have the plot update. Any Ideas? Thanks, Drew

Well for me, it is not that I want VW to develop a paperwork solution, but I do have to agree with Pat, that it should be a simple fix to be able to sort by two different column sorting. Excel sorts by three. And to agree with Jim, I do not think VW should try to take out John & LW. I speak with John on occasion and I think his product is great. I make suggestions for future releases, and everyone who can should own & use it. Drew

i use both, but from time to time you need to make a few changes and it can be a pain to do the import export thing. Also, some shows do not require lw so why create a file that no one is going to use.

I have read the above info, and still cannot get SKUP PlugIn to appear in the workspace editor. I have reinstalled and still no luck. The installer says it is already installed. What was the solution that worked? Thanks
