Have you been to a VW Design Summit in the past? If not you don’t know what you’ve missed.
I think I've been to three of four? Philly, Chicago, Baltimore, and Phoenix (or Phoenixish, I should say). I preferred the cities to the resort. That is why I really didn't consider the last one. Might it have been canceled? In any event there seems to be much more 'design' in the city than in the desert. Also, the resort in Phoenix was a half hour from anywhere, so if a small group wanted to leave the resort for a drink, at least an hour was was required for a taxi/uber/lyft.

Isn't it more complex than just a curve? I have done shows with 'stands' for the panels that facet into curves. Having access to that hardware and being able to readily add that would be terrific.

what do you mean by non-parallel walls? Walls with uneven thicknesses?

Going back to in-person should not be done with the idea that covid is over.
I am a proponent of Hybrid events. I might go to an on-peson Summit, depending on location.

I rendered out a camera view and made a screen texture.
That has been my workaround, BUT if I am showing something and there is iMag, it would be ideal if the screen updated as the design evolved. Pretty much a first world 'problem.'

I read the question differently. I thought Dendecko wanted to have the camera view show up on a "monitor" object in the VW drawing. And I don't know how to do that or that it can be done.
That is how I read the question as well. I agree it cannot be done, BUT it would be nice.

What do you reckon......?
Well, it is in no way up to me. Above my pay grade, but it would be sweet.

and perhaps, like the Update Viewport button, it ought to turn red when an update is required?

1. use a Reflectivity>glow texture or Reflectivity>Backlit and add a red Area Light behind.

Sounds like options would be nice. I generally use 01, 02, etc

Do feel free to submit a VE and please detail the issues you have without it so we can think about the best way to solve them. It could be that brining perimeter mapping back is the answer but it might result in us coming up with an even better solution.
Pf course, I remembered a video that described how to make this very thing. A quick search and I find that @Matt Panzer made the tutorial and used Perimeter mapping.
Is there a VE to bring that back? I'd like to up vote.

I'd be curious to see that hexes tile on a flat surface.
have you tried using the brick shader and bump in the VWX texture definition?
What are those cabinet faces?
-
I'd be curious to see what you're after. Not sure these all correspond to how VWX defines a texture.
Not thinking of 'limitations' but of differing approaches.

I do forget that people are actually running practices working in 2D.
I was recently asked to teach VWX in 2D. I was flummoxed. I've been a user since MiniCAD v3 and tried to do more in 3D than that version was designed to accomplish. Why use a computer in 2D?

I think I can see a control point in the screen shot.
Yes, seems like a slip of the mouse. There is an extra point. When deleted the adjustable length is shown.

why not Vectorworks Cloud?

For now on I have to use Inkscape to export it to .dwg and than import the file in Vectorworks. It may cause some errors as @Kevin Allen mentioned.
Adobe Illustrator exports to dwg, but I find that export/import process often imperfect. This is especially true of the deign includes elegant curves that DWG converts to many short lines.

@Kaare Baekgaard @Piotr Karczewski Can you send an example file? I'm not sure I fully understand the problem, as Vectorworks does support Bezier curves, and it does support editing it via handles [Reshape tool]. It sounds like the problem is with PDF importing these curves, right?
I am sure I have a VE on this or similar somewhere along the way. VWX used to import the native AI file format as vector art. Somewhere along the way VWX lost that ability. So, once upon a time, I could design a logo in AI, import into VWX and manipulate/detail for signage, as one example.
Currently, I have to retrace any graphic creating an opportunity for error.

I am not a Landscape Designer, but I do use some of these tools. This is really a universal need and solution.
I have been, however, generally amused but the subject heading.

I miss Bryce 3D for creating and texturing random landscape features. That was my go to 20 years ago.

Texture Pads may be the easier and faster solution for large scale
Not sure where Foliage ships, it is more of a rendering device than a planning tool. Foliage provides no plant inventory, it merely spreads, somewhat randomly, images/textures.
I generally find it in the Visualisation Tool Palette.

I do not agree, plus as someone said; the cross pollination is very valuable. I know I started to read the mailing lists before I had much of a clue and I have learned a lot from people in and out of my field. I think the 'architectural' bus tours of Chicago were valuable to all.
