Yes I was wondering about these because someone sent me a ctb file.

It would be nice if I had the option to save a consultant's line weights when I convert a dwg/dxf. This would eliminate having to reenter them everytime I get a new document from the same consultant. This could be added to the line weights window so one could have the option of choosing from a previously saved set or enter a new line weight settings. Has this ever been discussed?

I agree. the current scroll till you find what you want can gett annoyin very quickly.

I agree about the hypen thing. This would be a nice feature to add to the layers menu.

In VW9 I was able to go to a file through the resources palette if I wanted to say import a hatch into a file. It would be nice to be able to do this without having to add this file to my favorites (I am only using it once), or opening the file to import the one hatch, symbol, etc.

thanks that worked. Is there a way to change the redlines objects so that all peieces ar on the redlines class not just in the container?

The class pen color is red. I also tried to edit the group to make sure evrything is on the correct class. I have done all the basic checks.

We have a problem with the redline tool not being red. It starts out red when I draw the rectangle but switches to black after I have finished typing the text. In the attributes box the color is red but the redline appears black on screen. I created a new document and did not seem to have this problem. Is this a bug in this file or was a preference set incorrectly? I am working on VWArch 10 on mac os 9.2, but the document was created on a computer using os 10.

I like the addition of this commoand. However, it would very helpful if I could choose which layers to show in ceiling view. For example, if I am showing a plan and rcp on the same sheet, I have to redraw the walls so that my doors do not show up on the ceiling plan.

why aren't you using photoshop to assemble multiple images into one image, then import into vw if you need to use it in vw.

I am using vwa 10.0.1 on mac os 9.2 and I am having problems with vw quitting 2-5 times a day. Any suggestions?

I used to be able to type "f" and go to the first font that started with "f" instead of having to scroll down to it in the format text window. What happened to this? is this a bug?

I did'nt realize tht "show thumbnails" always showed all type of resources. I use the list format usually, and I have to individually pick every single type of r.o. for all to show (ie: hatches, symbols, records....)

There should be a show all option so I don't have to pick every single type individually if I want to see every resource in the document.

I have a title block on a 1:1 layer I added a layer at an 1/8" scale. why does the origin for the new 1/8" layer come up in the middle of the print window and not where the 1:1 origin point is? shouldn't the origin for first layer be the origin for all layers? this does not make sense to me. vwa 10 mac 0s 9.2

I would like to be able to see the correct classes, etc when I open the target document. For example, we use workgroup refencing to creat "plot files", instead of printing from one document. (This allows more thatn one person to work on files for a project.) We draw the floor plan, rcp, and roof plan on different layers and wgr them into "plot sheets" that also have a reference to a title block file. When I open the final rcp "plot file" all of the objects are not shown immediately. Usually, I have to open the classes window and close it, to "refresh" and the correct objects show up. I was told previously that the target files shows the view of what was last saved in the source file. I want to have the target document autmatically show what is supposed to be shown. Problems arise when someone new opens the target document, doesn't know what it supposed to look like and prints. I want a way to avoid having to do this work-around.

so that scale window one gets in object info palette for some plug-ins does nothing? I aaumed that if I was working in say 1/8" and 1/4" I could have the symbol ont 1/8" layer set at 1 and the one on the 1/4" layer set at .5. I have not used this much but I thought this was what it was intended for.

it is really annoying when I go to the object library to get a new symbol to have to scroll throught the entire list to get back to the pane for the document I am currently working in. Is there a way to have the object libraries in a folder so I only see that folder instead of 50 documents. I like that rp window in vw 9 does not show all thes libraries, however I hate having to figure out which one to add to the object browser when I need a new symbol. Any suggestions for simplifying the look of the resources palette. Can I hide the libraries until I need them? without having to add one to my favorites list everytime I need something new?

I use "use layer color" frequently when I want to figure out what is on what layer or edit objects just on one layer. With this prefence on you still use the show/snap layers and sanp to object on other layers. I give each layer a different color and voila. My objects still have their class color/attributes when I go back to the regular view mode. Have you tried this option?

I think I am actually using vwa 9.5.2. Are you saying that in vwa 10 I can have a door with properties different than the wall? I can have a wall be a solid line and the door be dashed lines?
