I am having the same issue in Flyover or any view other than Plan. Clip Cube is not checked. Actually cannot return to plan view with any visibility.
I've had that in the past if I recall. Lucky this time that I can reset to Top/Plan.
I'm using VW 2018 on a PC for what it's worth.

I've got the NVIDIA card locked on with Vectorworks.

-after disappearing, if I Ctrl A to select all it will indeed select everything, but no highlighted items shown
-the only way to reset and have model reappear is to go back to top/plan mode
-definitely improves with fewer layers selected
-I'm guessing a graphics card issue

I had the same thing happen to my model. Was just about to start new post thread:
Model disappears when flyover-
This only happens occasionally and have had to rebuild the model in the past. Hoping to avoid that this time.
Occasionally something happens to my model that makes it disappear when using the flyover tool. It doesn't happen every time, usually when more layers are selected and more often in OpenGL, not Wireframe.
Has anyone had this issue and aware of a fix?
By the way, I did not have the issue resolved by deselecting ClipCube.
I've also got the Navigation Graphics set to "Best Compatability"
I can upload the file if that helps...

@AJ Roslevich Yes I think I followed those instructions to a tee; still no dice. The one piece that was missing for me was finding the old version of the installer. It is located within the unpacked folder/resources/installer folders. VW tech support helped me with and had it going tickity-boo in no time.

I really appreciate the info but unfortunately, this isn't working for me. I've downloaded multiple times, unzipped with 7zip, Winrar, and Winzip and still I get the warning saying I don't have space. I do indeed have space, 150GB in fact. I have contacted my VW tech support directly and am waiting to hear back. Thanks again for your efforts. I'll post a solution if I find one.
Would love to hear from @AJ Roslevich if he/she was able to get a better result.

Unfortunately, if I move a framing member (or 10) I'm looking at lots of time changing dims.
Thanks, I'll add this to wishlist. -

Here's an example file.
^ Love this. It does look like one of those bench mounted ones, doesn't it. I wonder how much force it takes to open a bottle. My guess was based on it having a force rating stamped on it. I always notice the nerdy tech info.... Benson's right about the geometry. There is something else going on beyond my simplified version.

Beauty, thanks Kevin.

@jakezyou designing some climbing walls?
For the curious, that's a bolt hanger used in climbing to clip a quickdraw and rope into (or anchor to). Typically anchored into rock with an expansion bolt, or t-nutted to a plywood climbing wall.
Wow, clearly I have to change my forum settings so I get emails when people respond to my questions. You guys are amazing! Thank you so much.
Yes, I design climbing walls and am slowly adding to my library of itsy bitsy details so I can just plug them into any drawing I'm working on. (It isn't great for opening a beer bottle, better to use a H-frame carabiner :))

Hi Jakez, I was given the fix for the issue from the Vectorworks tech support, and they were only aware of the issue on the Mac side. Did you try deleting the same file to see if that helps?
I haven't done that yet. I'm still in "work-around mode". Also, I feel like there's possibly some preference that I accidentally selected that's causing my issue.

Wow, four years ago. Has there been any developments here? I'm looking for exactly what that digitalmechanics video layed out.

Exactly what I was looking for... but I'm not sure where/how to find them. All I see is your post, no hatches attached.
...confused...

Does VW 2017 do anything to address this issue?
Sometimes while outlining 3D "design" drawings that I've worked and reworked with clients, I think I must be doing things the hard way. But that's how everyone is doing it, hey?

Model disappears when entering flyover mode (or leaving top / plan view)

Solved!!
@Benson Shaw
Just what I needed; a checklist!
It was the corrupt object that had me thinking. My biggest hint was that it didn't happen every time. About 1/3 of the time I was able to flyover especially if I clicked and held for a few second then rotated.
I started with each layer selected and tried to flyover. I systematically deselected a layer and tried the flyover again. Eventually I isolated the top floor plan containing the walls only. Even if I only selected this layer it would glitch. Next I selected "top/plan" with just this layer then "Zoom/Fit to Objects". There it was. Then "Front" and "Zoom/Fit to object" and the ruler scale went to some astronomically distant number. I think I was viewing the model from Neptune.
A quick redraw of one layer (still in prelim phase) and I'm back in business.
My guess as to what happened is something in the "AEC/Fit Walls to Objects..." command. I think I'll do this manually next time.
Thank you everyone and all the best,
Jake
