  1. Is there a way to export multiple worksheets to excel so that each worksheet is on a separate TAB? If not is there a way to export multiple worksheets into individual excel dpreadsheets at the same time. We can only figure out how to export a single worksheet at a time. It is very time consuming and tedious.

Has anyone had a problem with the notes generated from the notes where you set up your notes, crop them onto the sheet sapce and then go back a few days later and it is liek the font size or sapcing of the notes changes - ie/ on closing the document you have set up your cropped VP on the sheet spaces, then when you open the text seems to take up the same width, but be longer. However, you haven't changed the body text size or spacing. The text length no longer fits and individual notes appear to overlap, you then double clock on the text in the design layer and magically it no longer overlaps but is longer so doesn't fit into your crops ont he sheet sapce anymore? It is driving us insane. this problem does not impact on text used in other places within the document, just text generated from the notes database.

  4. It would help if the Plant tool actually contained all the same fields as the Plant Catalogue. We have had the experience of checking the update catalogue option when editing the symbol and it exported the data and got rid of all the previous data. Landscape architects work in a range of different projects and need to be able to manipulate a lot of data but really at a bare minimum it shoudl be easy to do the following: 2D and good 3D Graphics Plan Graphics - switch between Black and White, any chance of linking the pot volume to the pot graphic options - manually having to do this in two locations is just annoying. 3D - really needs to be more compatable with other rendering programs and provide better graphics in service select - have I missed something, where are these in service select? How do you do shadestudies with the trees - ie/deciduous trees create less shade in Winter etc. Most projects now have some sort of requirement to be able to accuraltey model shade. Plus with 3D rendering/videos it is kind of a given. Very Basic Schedules - Minimum Latin and common name, pot volume, Qty, minimum installation - most councils also now need exotic, Native Indigenous, some also requested evergreen or deciduous. Plant Photographs Exitsing Tree Tool needs more fields.
  5. Im very inetrested in the training you are referring to for gettings chedules across multiple pages instead of having to create multiple Viewports? We also have used filemaker to create the type of booklet/pictorial schedule you are doing - it should be simple, but you need a way to link your drawing back to filemaker - which we did by using a Project number. But it just became too much work/too time consuming and no longer do it - plus each yearw e get told the plant catalgue database is getting deleted/updated so don't want to do work which will be wasted. We would also liek to produce materials schedules in the way you are asking for with the palnt schedule. However, we are still doing this in word due to the same VP crop problems you refer to - the same issue applies to Specifications create from the notes database - you ahve to manually create VP, and the numebring can't be edited - so you can't create multiple columns of text and then a separate one and have the numerbing continuous - unless I ahve totally missed something. We only use VW for our Plant Specifications and it is very annoying when you need to add one/delete one and ahve to resize/crop all on the sheet space.
  6. I think we work in a similar method - we have a server, people open their individual project files and save them back to the same server. If they are working oversease or similar they do the same via teamviewer with no significant lag time. However, the problems happen when the files are over about 250MG which usually is because of referenced in material - architectural models, multistorey buildings or just because of aerial images, people don't checkout items, people forget to save and commit for over a day, the server is backing up at the same time, more than one staff member saves and commits at the same time, or someone decided to save to their desktop and not the server, or creates two individual files. So yes a lot can go wrong, but the main problems we have are the larger files sizes with our small team of 5 or so working on the same project. Without a doubt though, there have been times when a person has saved and committed, another has refreshed 20minutes later and the data just isn't transferred across, no error message or any indication that it went wrong, sometimes it seems to magically appear hours later. Obviously there is a far amount of user behaviour involved but with those larger files it does seem a constant battle - even when everyone is working at the office.

We just put all the details onto a standard sheet in a grid formation ensuring all details are drawn in a consistend manner. what we would to do is be able to use some sort of marker on the plan to cross reference to the deatil. I am curious on how other people do this and also how it is handled in 3D which we are transferring for on all projects.
  8. Yes this is a problem we face also. We actually have to keep a totally separate word document with our full text in it so that we can check spelling and grammar and then copy and past into the database. It really does limit the use of the database tool. Also the database tool is tricky with spacing of text also. It seems like one of the weakest tools currently so I guess that is one of the reasons its not used, plus its got that tendency to link to the user copy of individual users database ratehr than an office wide database which also kind of makes it redundant.
  9. I agree also, would be much better if you edited anything on a layer for this layer to be checked out without even having to select it as an option.
  10. We have problems running the spell check when we have individuals in their working file. For instance, it seems we can check out a sheet, manually select the blocks of text ont he sheet and run the spell check without a problem, but this is tedious as there mights be 5 or 100 individual or so sheets. However, if we run a spell check on the design layers or multple sheets we have the problem of the spell check going through all the document, getting to the end and then freezing, or causing the file to crash and then disconnecting to the master file so not been able to save and commit and changes from that person. Are other people having this issue? We are working around it by only doing a spell check when one person has their working file open and everyone else is closed - but this is far from ideal.
  11. We have an ongoing problem across multiple files and with different worksheets we use to create the Planting Schedule. When using a project sharing file someone can update the planting plan, update the schedule and have everything displaysed correctley. Then a different person, or the same person opens the file again and the schedules are blank and have to be recalculated. This is very annoying as it takes extra time that shouldn't need to be spent and even worse you can batch and issue an entire project and then find that the one page that ahs a palnt schedule int he middle of the set is just blank. All the ehadings appear, and sometimes the rows with no data also appear, or sometimes its just the ehadings with no rows where the plants should appear. It ahs been a problem since we started using 2022. We are also using the current service patch. The responce we had froms ervice select was that its because we don't remake our schedules each year. I'm not sure this is the only way to fix this problem - sureley as projects go for so long it is simply not feasible to doa dn drag in the new schedule into every project. We have a small office but we would still work on 20 projects a year (which on average run for 2 years but often up to 5), most with multiple plant scheudles - which are often customised in soem way for that Council, that project or that Client. Do other people have this problem? Is the only solution to create a new schedule each year and repalce the current ones in any project you upgrade?
  12. I ahve noticed this option doesn't work as well as previously, ie/ you select 1 tight outline and it still looks like it uses two outlines around the massed graphic. Has anyone else noticed this?

I think we are having a similar problem - when using a symbol from our library all parameters come in as set to individual instance - which means that we are manually having to open each item and select by style which is fixing it for that project and appears to get everything to show up as it used to. this is very time consuming. Are we missing something - is there a function e can select first which ensures all parameters are set to use style so our symbols come into the file like this. It is seriously making every planting plan take twice to four times as long.
  14. We have a file which just shuts down - seemingly for no reason. ie/ there is nothing we are doing which we can link to it shutting down. Except for maybe deleting references. It happens maybe a few times a day. No other files are doing this so we think it is file specific. Is there a report or something which we can view which would tell us why so we can fix it? Thanks 🙂

  17. I have looked at this further - the issue began in October 2020. Its every file and to force it to show the data is just wasting time - some projects have lots of worksheets and its a few minutes each tiem - which doesn't seem like a big deal but adds up quickly over multiple projects, staff members and the entire life of a project. As landscape architects it is getting pretty frustrating - you would think having the data stay displayed would be a key feature required of the program. At first i thought perhaps there was an option or formula whichw as wrong, but I can't identify anything.

  19. We do use project files, but it happens even when we are not doing this. PC, VW 2022 and VW 2021, Windows Today we have a very small project, two different plant schedules. Made all changes yesterday. Closed the file last night. Opened it this morning and schedules blank.
  20. was it figures out if this was just a slick marketing feature, twinmotion render, or actually something which can be set as part of the symbol and then pushed into twinmotion/lumion or another rendering option?
  21. We have an ongoing problem we have not been able to solve. It seems to be connected to shared files. We have a worksheet which calculates the number of plants and generates a Planting Schedule. On opening the file the schedules are blank - this is annoying as they have to be recalculated. The rows data should exist in are not shown blank, they are not shown - the schedule consists of just the headings. Having to recalculate on a small project is OK - still annoying as you often might pdf and then only see the schedules are blank on review of PDF, but on large files it takes time to recalculate all schedules. Once you recalculate, you can work as normal and save and commit, the next day you open the file and the schedules are blank. Has anyone else experienced this and if so what was the fix.
  22. The referenced images would have been placed onto sheet spaces. So there is no way to purge unusued references where the image has been deleted but the name of the file still shows in the referenced list? Thanks
  23. is there a way to purge unused references out of a file. For instance, we have a file which we have been using for a project which has run over many years. There have been many referenced in images on the sheet spaces, but the sheets have become irrelevant over time and deleted. However, i still have a huge list of referenced files, which i am sure appear no where and would like to remove. the problem is there are probably over 100 of them and i can not be sure they don't appear. is there a way of deleting from the list the file names where the actual reference has been deleted. if not is there a way of clicking on a referenced file name and finding where the information/View port is within the file so i can determine if it is actually used?
  24. We have this problem too - actually I have noticed it a few times with very large complex files but this file is very simple. But today it appeared in a very simple file. We have a baseplan file from the architect. It's small 200KB you can zoom in and out easily. It is referenced into our concept file - you only see the line work when zooming in and out. We built a very simple 3D model., then you could only see any linework when zooming in and out. I deleted 3D model - no difference. After spending about 45 minutes on it I selected unified view and everything worked. Does anyone know what the underlying issue would have been?
