Irregular flagstone in 3D staircase

Hi there,

Very new to VW and have tried to find threads to guide me but so far not come across the right information. I was hoping to show the irregular flagstone pavers in 3D mode in a staircase. I have both a simple staircase and, yet to be done, but also need the irregular flagstone pavers in an angular staircase.

Any help is much appreciated !

Yikes! no responses yet?  Hopefully you have this sorted already. Sorry this took so long.

Anyway, welcome to the forum.  Are you using v2022?  A signature on your posts would be helpful with vwx version, and a bit about your hardware.  Make one in your forum account settings>signature.

Your simple stair, and 3d objects in general, do not display texture unless they have a solid fill, and a texture assigned, and the scene is rendered.

Some processes that might get you started:

1. Assumes stair object is assigned to a class with no solid fill and no texture

  • Select you Simple stair.
  • In the Attributes Palette, verify that the Fill option is set to Solid
  • In the Object Info Palette>Render Tab click the Texture option to open the menu and choose Texture
  • Click the default texture icon to open the texture list and click toselect the Field Stone or other texture as appropriate.
  • Click the Select button at bottom of the texture choices pane.
  • Render the scene to see the texture on the stair.

2. Assumes the drawing contains a class dedicated to the uneven flagstone look

  • If necessary create a class named "UnevenFlag" or similar as appropriate
  • UnevenFlag should have these features: Use at Creation, Solid fill, a flagstone texture.
  • Select the stair
  • OIP>Class menu choose UnevenFlag
  • Render the scene
  • If the texture doesn't appear: Attributes Palette click the 3 little dots at upper right. In the flyout menu choose All Attributes By Class.
  • Render the scene.
