John Oualline
The Architect library object for 2D Telephone symbol is inserted in the middle of a wall and has 6pt font. Is there any way I can modify the library object to change its insertion point and font size in the library so that I don't have to continue to do so in the document file? Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Robert Anderson Posted January 27, 2005 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted January 27, 2005 !. To set the default text size, deselect everything and set your default text size from the Text menu. The Comm Device object should get those text properties (size, font, etc) by default. 2. What do you mean by "middle of the wall"? The Comm Device object is intended to insert on the wall face and does so in my version of VWA. I insert a Comm Device and, while I see the vertical "stem" of the symbol cross the wall face, the triangle of the symbol still stands well away from the wall. Are you saying that you'd prefer the stem to not be drawn crossing the wall surface? Quote Link to comment

John Oualline
Robert - thanks for the response. This fixes the font problem for me. As for the symbols, I guess my personal preference is for 2D symbols to perch on the wall surface and not intrude into the wall. Thanks. Quote Link to comment
John Oualline
Robert - As far as my original question, are library objects sacred as far as modifying their properties? Shouldn't I be able to at least duplicate a library object and make mods to my copy, without losing the properties fields found in the library version? Quote Link to comment
