Eustachio
Hi, I am new to Vectorworks (on a 30 days trial), I have been using mostly Revit for my work, but after having seen the 3D modelling capabilities of Vectorworks has made me wanting to switch. I do my renders on Blender and my issue at the moment is that when I export a 3D model from Vectorworks in .obj or .dae or .fbx and then import it into Blender, the Remesh tool takes all the memory (64gb) and in a little while crashes, the model is just a simple box with a sphere. Does anyone know a way to make this work? it is the only thing limiting me from going ahead with Vectorworks. Thanks in advance! zoomer
Hmmh, it has been a while. But I have not seen problems with my VW FBX exports in Blender at that time. AFAIK VW FBX aren't unnecessarily triangulated for rectilinear objects anyway. Triangulation of semi complex objects, say a bend Cylinder, can get quite heavy with higher 3D mesh conversion resolution settings. Like Stool legs tend to get far more polygons than needed, while larger radii objects like rounded Walls would need much higher subdivision. I am also not very familiar with Blender remesh option. But when VW geometry in Blender causes your PC (with such Specs) to stall, it could be likely a Blender problem to report though. Have you tried older LTS Belnder versions or newer Alphas or Betas too and have the same problems ? Quote Link to comment
