TBrown
Hi I just want to know if anyone has ever imported a wireframe CAD model from AutoCad, and if so what was the procedure from both sides (their export to my import) to be able to successfully open the file and maintain all parameters....wall heights, window and door openings etc. I posted this question earlier but received no responses. I understand that this may not even be possible.....just need to know on way or the other. Thanks Trevor Quote Link to comment
Skidee
Not really too difficult...I think. If the drawing is 3D in ACAD, it should come through as 3D using the import capabilities standard with VW. Just make sure you select the 2D / 3D option in the the import dialog box. I tested this with a 3D acad file (converted from VW into a DWG, then imported back into VW). Work pretty well. Good luck. Paul Skidmore PSArchitecture Quote Link to comment
David Seibert
Ditto. I've had no glitches with this procedure either. You get all the assigned attributes except for mapped textures. All 3d elements are imported as 3d polys, so there are alot more individual facets. Quote Link to comment
