Recommended Posts

I know this has beeen asked before and I have a done a search.........

So I downloaed the free pdf creator as suggested pdf995

1. I open the drawing in vw.

2. I open the export box and I choose export as a image file.

3. That box opens and I choose BMP file type and then it saves it as a bitmap.

Is this the correct process ?

As PDF is not available on any of these steps is image file > BMP a pdf ?

.pdf conversion is different from other image creation procedures. It is based on printer driver conversion, so you need to "plot" the drawing as a .pdf to create the .pdf file you want. Look under your printer choices to find the "Adobe pdf" driver. When you "print," you will be asked where you want to save your file.

Hi,

Note( I am also trying find Alanmac's posts on this as we speak)

OK so I am now trying through print:

So I downloaded the free pdf creator as suggested pdf995

1. I open the drawing in vw.

2. I open the print setup I choose pdf995

3. I hit OK and I do not get asked anything, rather the document goes off and spools and then prints on my little A4 Hp in multiple sheets.

I know I am missing something here ?

The little hp is shared by 2 computers in the office so I have turned off shared printer, but still no luck.

Clicking "OK" on the Print Setup window should never result in printing. If it does, there's something seriously wrong with your system, and maybe you should delete all printers, including PDF995, from the Printers control panel and re-install them.

However, once PDF995 has been selected as the printer for the current document, clicking "Print" in the Print window should yield a window called "Pdf995 Save As", which prompts you for a filename and a location to save the PDF file to.
