AndyM
I got a .cad file from someone today. Anybody have any idea what created it and if I can convert it to something usable? Quote Link to comment
Jonathan Pickup
maybe you could ask the person that made the file what they used.... Quote Link to comment
AndyM
Gee, I didn't think of that. It was handed from person to person to person. I haven't been able to find any info on a program that uses that extension and have tried renaming to all the usual suspects. It's probably some cheap consumer cad program like 3d home designer or something. Quote Link to comment
DeanF
When you goole it it came back with Softdesk Drafix Cad file. I don't know this program but there was something on the Autodesk help pages http://discussion.autodesk.com/thread.jspa?threadID=255545 Hope this helps Dean Quote Link to comment

JHEarcht
Andy I have a copy of AutoDesk AutoSketch CAD application. It will open .cad files from Drafix or QuickCAD and save as any AutoCAD filetype: .dwg, .dxf. dwf. It can also save as bitmaps such as .tif, .gif, .bmp, .jpg,.wmf, etc. If you'll send it to me I'll try to convert it for you. From .dwg you can then import it into VW. jhe.architect@earthlink.net Quote Link to comment
