MRD Mark Ridgewell
Trying to bring a custom colour palette in from VW2018 to VW2019. Have converted the source file to VW2019 but the customAnyone know how to import a custom colour palette doesn't seem to come across. Is this even possible or am I missing something obvious..are these colours managed by the Resource Manager somehow (I think not so?) Thanks in advance for any help! Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted October 24, 2018 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted October 24, 2018 I'm fairly sure its: Attributes Palette > Click fill or pen color > Color manager (top right wrench and pencil icon) > New > Import. But yes, the file does have to be converted to the new version first. Quote Link to comment
MRD Mark Ridgewell
Hi Jim, Thanks for prompt reply...yes, did that but the custom files don't appear. Is there a way of locating the relevant resource files and copying them across? I haven't used migration manager yet - would that make a difference? Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted October 24, 2018 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted October 24, 2018 It should accept any VWX files in that dialog box, were you maybe trying to target a STA/template file of some kind? You should be able to do this independently of the migration manager. Quote Link to comment
LJ TMS
If they are saved palettes in the Color Palette Manager, you should be able to copy the xml files over from your user data folder... C:\Users\USER\AppData\Roaming\Nemetschek\Vectorworks\2018\Libraries\Defaults\Color Palettes to C:\Users\USER\AppData\Roaming\Nemetschek\Vectorworks\2019\Libraries\Defaults\Color Palettes Then open the Color Palette Manager in 2019 and checkmark them in the list to make them active 2 Quote Link to comment
MRD Mark Ridgewell
Perfect, thankyou LJTMS - it worked! Sorry Jim, definately not working as you suggested. Maybe user error but don't think so 1 Quote Link to comment
MRD Mark Ridgewell
Now for the bad news; the colour palettes show up in the color palette manager, but sadly the custom colours don't display when selected. Quote Link to comment

If it's not showing up in the Attribute palette, did you checkmark your custom palette to make it active in the Palette Manager? Quote Link to comment
