Claveworks
I don't know why, but I just cannot find symbols in other documents any more. Using the search box at the top of the Resource window allows me to find symbols in the open document, but I just can't work out how to search through all my old files and folders to find the symbol I actually NEED. Any ideas? Or is this an old feature that has gone now? Edited August 7, 2018 by Claveworks Quote Link to comment
Andy Broomell
If you click this flyout, is "Everywhere" selected? Quote Link to comment
Claveworks
Wow, quick reply - And yes, 'everywhere' is selected Quote Link to comment
Andy Broomell
Is it something you've been able to do before and recently stopped working? Have you tried a full restart? Note that it won't search ALL Vectorworks files on your hard drive, only ones within the various library locations (VW, User, Cloud, etc) plus open files. Quote Link to comment
Claveworks
Ah, okay - I think you have nailed my problem - I used to be able to search all Vectorworks files but can't any more... But thinking about it, it might be that my OLD version could do this, but 2017 can't, so it's a failure caused by upgrading... I need a solution somehow, because there are a lot of symbols that I only use sometimes... Would it work if I copied all the old symbols into a single file? If so, where should that file be placed? Thanks! Quote Link to comment
