Plant symbols have lost their colour

Hi there 

I had placed a couple of trees into my plan and they were fine. However, now they seem to have lost their colour fill. It shows that I have chosen a gradient but every time I try to reinsert them, they just come in with their outline and no colour. I'd be very grateful for any help.

It seems that all other symbols from the vectorworks libraries are ok (eg grasses, shrubs, herbaceous etc). It is just the trees that don't seem to work.

Is View > Unified View enabled?

Is View > Layer Options set to Show/Snap/Modify others?

If you copy one of the outline-only trees to a new blank document, does it look the same or show the expected color fills?
