Vectorworks, Inc Employee Robert Anderson Posted December 11, 2002 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted December 11, 2002 In VWL 10, users create Plant Catalogs within a specific project document. (This is different from the process in VWL 9, which used an external "Project Plants" file.) Since it can take some effort to set up a Plant Catalog, it should be easy to transfer this information from one project file to another, and it is. Here's how: 1. Assume that you've spent some time setting up your Plant Catalog in file "Project A". You want this to be your standard. You can save the file "Project A" as a template file using the Save As Template... command on the File menu. This template file can now serve as the basis for any file. 2. At any time, you can import the entire plant catalog from one file to a blank file. Let's say you've just started sketching in a file "Project C" but haven't set up a plant catalog. You can import a complete plant catalog from another file "Project B" by browsing the file "Project B" and importing the symbol folder called "System Folder" from "Project B" into "Project C". Once you've done this, you can immediately begin using all the plants in the catalog. Quote Link to comment
