Dob
Is it possible to count symbols per space(name)? I know the LOC function can do this by naming the object the same as the space name but this may lead to errors. The goal is to count all electric symbols per room. Quote Link to comment
michaelk
Yes Use the space name (or name of any surface object like a square, polyline, polygon, etc) as part of the criteria. So you can count by doing something like =COUNT(CLASS='Elect Device' & LOC='Kitchen') Make sure you are always in top/plan view when you recalculate the worksheet! MK Quote Link to comment
Dob
Sorry if I was not clear : With the space tool, I can show the room area, room name etc on the ground plan. Therefore the room name is entered in the field Custom Space Name of the object info palette . I do not want to enter the same name again in the data tab of the info palette because this is extra work ( I know : I'm lazy) and it could cause errors. So LOC='Kitchen' will not work because this criteria will search for the object name in de data tab. I was hoping this would work : =COUNT( (S='switch1') & ('Space'.'11_Space Name Cust'='Kitchen')) Quote Link to comment
Hippocode
Hi Dob, This is one of the things my SymbolObject does. It automatically registers the space name, number and building it is in. You can use this to summarise and display your symbols in a sheet. Quote Link to comment
