Export 2014 plant symbols for use in 2013

Is it possible to export a collection of custom plant symbols from 2014, reuse them in 2013, and then reimport the file back into 2014?

There appears to be a dialog for exporting a plant symbol collection, but it is not very clear how it is supposed to work, or if this can in fact be done.

Cathode - Did you try converting/exporting the v2014 file to v2013? This process is available in the File>Export menu. It creates a new v2013 file and does not alter the v2014 file.

Do the custom symbols look and act correctly in v2013?

If things are OK in v2013, then work on it as needed, save, and open the modified v2013 file in v2014. This process creates a new v2014 file without altering the v2013.

Lots of round tripping like this is not only annoying, but it can make the files unstable. Layer Import to a new blank file of same version can help stabilze, but that's a pain to do with each version, each round trip, especially if remaking viewports and sheet layers.
