Ability to share classes with Project Sharing

Project sharing is a big step forward but are there any plans to be able to check out individual classes?

This would allow 1 team member to work on all the ceilings with a multi-storey building whilst another team member works on the small power layouts for example.

I haven't seen class checkout SPECIFICALLY but there are plans to allow more fluid checkout rules, such as within a selection or area of a document, not just limited to layers.

However, if a class is used on multiple layers and you have different people working on different layers but need to access the same class for their layer would class checkout interfere with this? Locking layers to prevent access by others is fairly logical, but for classes it would be a bit different.

What I am trying to ask is if class checkout is available would it block other people from using that class if they are on a different layer? After all classes are supposed to be used across layers.

I'm pretty sure when I used to use ArchiCad Team Working you could check out either layers or classes but not both.

It seemed to work fine and gave a bit more flexibility in how tasks could be divided. It just needs good communication across the team!
